Government order - Crimean House will be founded in Kyiv
The
Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine has approved a decision to found in Kyiv the
Crimean House which will become a political, social, informational, cultural,
educational and scientific center for the ethnic minorities and indigenous people
of Crimea.
A relevant
order was enacted at an exit session of the Government in Vinnytsya
on Friday, May 16, on the eve of the 70-th anniversary of deportation of
Crimean Tatars.
During
the session the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed: “Our
Crimean Tatar brothers, those who know that the Crimea has been and will be a
part of Ukraine, will have their representative office in Ukraine’s capital”.
The Crimean
House is called to become the center of interaction between the country and
civil society to counteract challenges when a part of Ukrainian territory is
occupied by the foreign state and a threat of future military aggression against
Ukraine exists”.
The Crimean
House will become a political, social, informational, cultural, educational and
scientific center for the ethnic minorities and indigenous people of Crimea,
the center joining all areas of their cultural and spiritual life.
Moreover,
this center should become the centre of political opposition to Crimean
occupation.
Under the
order of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Crimean House will be subordinate to the
Culture Ministry.
The
Crimean House will be located in 9, Suvorova street, in Kyiv, in a building which will be handed over by
the Academy of Agrarian Sciences to the Culture Minister.
The approved
document also envisages allocating of funding to the Culture Ministry which will
be directed to functioning of the Crimean House and repair of the building and
rooms. The Finance Ministry shall make changes to the State Budget of Ukraine
for 2014 and envisage for the Culture Ministry the funds necessary to provide
functioning of the Crimean House in the process of preparing projects of the
State Budget of Ukraine for the following years
As was
reported, today, 6 p.m. the National Opera House of Ukraine will hold a requiem
dedicated to commemorating the victims of the 70-th anniversary of deportation
of Crimean Tatars and other deported people from the Crimean territory. The Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk is to participate in the event.
