Amounts of payments for people injured at work and in need of care and medical support increased

The Government has ramped up monthly cash compensation for people injured at work and in need of constant care, as well as those in constant need of sanitary and hygienic products, care products, and who simultaneously need medical devices or medicines on a regular basis. The relevant resolution was drafted by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.

Until now, part of the victims, especially those with severe injuries, have faced significant costs for the purchase of necessary medical devices and medicines. This often became an unbearable financial problem for the family.

From now on, depending on the need, these people will have access to additional assistance:

  • UAH 4,000 if they need special medical care and medicines or medical devices;
  • UAH 2,000 if they need constant third-party care and medical devices;
  • UAH 1,333 if they need household care and medical devices;
  • UAH 800 if they need sanitary products and medicines or medical devices on a regular basis.

Thus, the Government has taken another step to support people who have faced serious illnesses or injuries at work.

Please note that those victims who are already receiving payments for care and in-kind assistance do not need to apply again. Social workers will soon visit them at their place of residence or stay, conduct an additional needs assessment and pass on the necessary information to the Pension Fund. And the Pension Fund, in turn, will accrue additional payments.

At the same time, we remind you that in order to receive in-kind assistance, the victim has the right to apply to the territorial office of the Pension Fund independently.

People should not be left alone with their problems after injuries or illnesses sustained at work.
