The European Union fully supports the public administration reform implemented by the Government of Ukraine. According to the Financing Agreement between Ukraine and EU concerning the program ''Support to Comprehensive Reform of Public Administration in Ukraine'', Ukraine received another tranche of budget support from the European Union, said Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksandr Saienko.
According to him, the amount of funding depends on the successful implementation of the reform in the previous period, and Ukraine has already fulfilled 75% of 100% of the performance indicators set for 2017, which was highly commended by European partners, which, in particular, highlighted the effectiveness of the involvement of reforms experts and creation of an effective system of reform coordination at the highest level.
Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers highlighted that the implementation of these targets and other tasks made it possible to receive a financial support to the tune of € 15.5 million.
"The first part of the disbursement is a fixed sum of € 5 million, the second part depends on the successful implementation of the reform measured by the program's performance indicators. TBased on the level of their fulfilment, the second part of assistance is worth € 10.5 million. These funds will be directed to the state budget", Oleksandr Saienko explained.
Earlier, international partners have commended the progress of Ukraine in pursuing of the public administration reform.
"It goes without saying that this is one of the key priorities of the Government. It is underpinned by the strong political leadership of the Prime Minister of Ukraine and other ministers responsible for the reform", Head of the Support Group under the European Commission Peter Wagner stressed.
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini highly praised the reforms being implemented in Ukraine.
"We observe that the government, state governance in Ukraine became stronger, and as a result, the economy is stronger", Federica Mogherini noted.
Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine emphasized the importance of the high assessment, and although there are still many challenges ahead, this is evidence of the recognition of the effectiveness of reform and trust between the parties.
"Our team cooperates with the European partners on a daily basis with a view to introducing a European model of public administration in Ukraine, and through this we achieve the goals set out in the Public Administration reform Strategy. For ordinary citizens this means that the state providing services to them becomes more effective, and the quality of such services will only be improved", Oleksandr Saienko added.
In a survey of 69 experts of the organizations that are part of the Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR) conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation in synergy with the Secretariat of RPR in June this year, the public administration reform was recognized as one of the five most far-reaching reforms in Ukraine.
