At the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy, "I Can" information and social campaign presented in Ukrinform
At the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy the Ukrainian News Agency Ukrinform presented an information and social campaign "I Can".
The campaign present the history of successful people with disabilities who inspire and serve as an example for others.
"Within the Ministry we are striving to create a society of equal opportunities for all the people. With this campaign, we want to draw the attention of Ukrainians to the importance of this objective and call on everyone to join the development of inclusive environment", said Alla Onuprienko, Director General of the Directorate for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities within the Ministry of Social Policy.
She also reminded about an initiative to establish a list of social institutions, territorial offices and institutions that need volunteering assistance.
"Today we have collected a list of such institutions. And what they lack is that can be very simple: painting the walls, assistance in cleaning, visiting the wounded. In addition, this might be some kind of educational work, training for people with disabilities", said Alla Onuprienko.
During the presentation of the campaign, a video was presented in which people with disabilities shared their success stories. In particular, among the characters of the video clip are the world blind chess champion Serhii Vasin, painter Yurii Patsan, volunteer, painter, designer Yulia Zadorozhnia, ATO veteran, athlete Olha Benda, TV presenter, public figure, athlete Uliana Pcholkina, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for rehabilitation of ATO participants Vadym Svyrydenko and public figure, traveler Mykola Podrezan.
