Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko today worked in Rivne region – an area that has taken in many internally displaced persons and relocated factories.

The Prime Minister, together with members of the Government, heard a report from the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, on the region’s main challenges, met with entrepreneurs, and discussed education issues in the region.

“We addressed the challenges at the start of the heating season and the steps the Government is taking to protect infrastructure. The russians have changed their tactics for targeting our energy facilities. This is a terrorist country, and we must be prepared for all possible scenarios of their attacks,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Among other key issues for the region is the possibility of creating safe conditions for children’s education in the northern districts of the region. This is a dangerous area near the border with belarus, from where russian drones fly in.

Much attention was paid to forest management and wood processing. The shortage of timber is among the key problems for manufacturers who have invested tens and hundreds of millions of euros in building new factories and expanding existing ones, particularly in Polissia.

“The Government recently extended the validity of electronic logging permits and timber origin certificates until 1 June 2027. This is an urgent decision to prevent a halt in logging. At the same time, systemic solutions must be developed to stabilise the forestry sector,” noted the Head of the Government.

Yulia Svyrydenko met with Rivne entrepreneurs. During the discussion, she reminded them of opportunities to support Ukrainian producers through the Made in Ukraine programmes, including affordable 5-7-9 loans, grants for processing enterprises, partial compensation for the cost of domestically produced agricultural machinery and equipment, dairy farm development programmes, and others.

“We hold meetings with entrepreneurs during every regional trip. In constant interaction with Ukrainian producers, we work to resolve issues in the real sector of the economy,” emphasised the Prime Minister and thanked the MPs who joined the meeting.
