Yulia Svyrydenko: From now on, everyone can apply for a taxpayer’s eCard via Diia, either for yourself or for your child
From now on, you can apply for a taxpayer’s eCard in just a few clicks via Diia — both for yourself and for your child. A paper document is no longer required. The eCard will have the same legal validity as the paper version. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
What has changed:
- Any Ukrainian aged 14 or over can order an electronic Taxpayer Card with a QR code — independently, without visiting the tax office.
- Parents can order an eCard for themselves, as well as apply for a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and an eCard for a child under 17 — all in digital format. The completed document will automatically appear in the parents’ app.
According to the Head of Government, this change also applies to children who have ended up abroad due to the war, via the eConsul system.
What one needs to do to obtain digital documents:
- How to obtain a child’s tax identification number in Diia: open the Diia app → go to the ‘Tax Services’ section → select ‘Tax number for a child’ → enter or confirm your contact details → review the application and sign it using Diia.Signature.
- How to obtain a taxpayer eCard in Diia: open the Diia app → go to the ‘Tax Services’ section → select ‘Taxpayer eCard for yourself or your child’ → enter or confirm your contact details → check the application and sign with Diia.Signature.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the teams at the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Tax Service and the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that had worked on creating this digital service for Ukrainians both in Ukraine and abroad (Details here: https://taxnumber.diia.gov.ua/#more).
“Today, over 24 million Ukrainians use the Diia. And our task is to ensure that there are even more such simple and user-friendly digital services,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
