Yulia Svyrydenko: Government held a coordination meeting of the G7+ Group to tackle energy support for Ukraine
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, together with members of the Government, held an urgent coordination meeting of the G7+ Ukraine Energy Coordination Group.
“Together with members of the Government, we briefed our partners on the situation in the energy sector across Ukrainian cities and regions, as well as our immediate needs to restore energy infrastructure.I thanked partners for helping organize this meeting and our partners for the assistance already provided and the new support now on its way to Ukraine,” the Head of Government said.
According to her, the partners announced and confirmed the provision of new support packages, which include more than 6,000 units of large energy equipment and contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, in particular:
- European Union: 447 generators;
- Italy: EUR 10 million contribution to the Fund and an additional EUR 50 million earmarked in the 2026 budget;
- Lithuania: 90 generators;
- The Netherlands: EUR 23 million to finance gas purchases, power plant repairs and the supply of generators and cables;
- Germany: EUR 60 million in support and additional equipment, including 33 cogeneration units, 15 mobile hybrid generators, 300 photovoltaic units, 375 battery units, 31 boiler installations, 45 units of construction machinery, and 10 water heaters;
- United Kingdom: nearly EUR 23 million to the Fund;
- United States: over USD 400 million for humanitarian projects to support Ukrainians affected by the crisis;
- France: over 100 generators with a total capacity of 13 MW;
- Japan: 140 small and medium-capacity generators, 60 small and medium transformers and repair equipment, 2 cogeneration units, 13 sets of frequency converters.
Yulia Svyrydenko invited the meeting participants to visit Ukraine to see with their own eyes the consequences of russian shelling and their impact on the lives of our people.
