Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 06 November 2024 14:42

More than 22,000 entrepreneurs have received grants to start or develop their businesses under the Government’s eRobota project. In over two years of the project’s operation, the state has invested UAH 10.3 billion in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises through grants. Half of the invested funds have already been returned to the budget in the form of taxes and fees paid by the grantees. This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.

“Through the eRobota grant programmes, we have already invested UAH 10.3 billion in the development of small and medium-sized businesses. More than 22,000 entrepreneurs have received financial support from the state. Despite the war, they continue to work, develop their businesses, increase production volumes of goods and services, enter new markets, preserve and create jobs, pay taxes, and strengthen the economy. During this time, grantees have already returned half of the invested funds in the form of taxes – almost UAH 6 billion in taxes and fees. They have also created over 61,000 jobs in various sectors,” noted Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Since the launch of the eRobota project in July 2022:

    • 19,916 microgrants totalling UAH 4.7 billion have been issued under the Vlasna Sprava programme.
    • 808 grants totalling UAH 4 billion have been issued for the development of processing enterprises.
    • 239 grants totalling UAH 1.1 billion have been issued for horticulture and greenhouse development.
    • 1,091 grants totalling UAH 508 million have been issued to veterans and their family members.

Both existing entrepreneurs and individuals without business experience can apply for grants. Applications are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. An essential condition for receiving a grant is the creation of new jobs – from 1-2 for microgrants to several dozen for other programmes. Grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees during the enterprise’s operation over three years.

    Background

The eRobota project was introduced by the Government in July 2022 to support businesses and stimulate job creation. It includes several grant programmes, including microgrants for opening or developing businesses, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for creating and developing processing enterprises, and grants for horticulture and viticulture, and greenhouse operations.
