More than 4,200 Ukrainian families have taken out loans to purchase housing under the eOselia programme since the beginning of 2024. Most of them purchased apartments, and 180 families purchased private houses. In total, 10,570 families have taken out loans worth UAH 16.7 billion since the start of the programme. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiia Bihun.
"Since the beginning of this year, more than 4,200 families have borrowed UAH 7.2 billion under the eOselia programme. Most of them received loans to buy an apartment, 180 families received loans to buy private houses. 52% of the loan recipients are contract servicemen of the Armed Forces and the security forces, 10% are teachers and scientists, and 8% are doctors. Representatives of these professions can take out a housing loan at 3% interest. 31% of loan recipients took out loans on the terms of a mass mortgage - at 7%," said Nadiia Bihun.
Last week, Ukrainians received 134 loans worth UAH 238 million under the eOselia programme, including
57 servicemen and law enforcement officers, 13 teachers, 8 doctors and 2 scientists received loans at 3%;
43 Ukrainians without their own housing, 6 IDPs and 5 veterans received loans at 7%.
Most often, loans were taken out to purchase housing on the secondary market (94 loans), while 40 Ukrainians took out loans to buy newly built housing - either from a developer or in a house under construction.
Most mortgage loans were taken out by residents of:
Kyiv region - 33;
Kyiv city - 26;
Lviv region - 11.
Today, the affordable lending programme is available to representatives of certain professions and citizens who do not own housing or want to improve their living conditions. For contract servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories - combatants, veterans, IDPs and other citizens - the mortgage rate is 7%.
Background information
The eOselia programme is one of the components of the 'Made in Ukraine' policy aimed at supporting Ukrainian producers and stimulating demand for domestic products. The programme was launched in October 2022. It is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy jointly with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ukrfinzhytlo. The partner banks of eOselia are Oschadbank, Privatbank, Ukrgasbank, Globus Bank, Sky Bank, Ukreximbank, Sense Bank and Credit Dnipro Bank.
