Ukrainians will feel significant positive changes being introduced by the Government in the primary  care, in emergency medicine and in the system of provision of medicines. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government session.

"The healthcare system is an important sphere, which is in a poor state now. But we did not give up and began to change the conditions in which people receive a new quality of services", Volodymyr Groysman stressed. " There will be a new quality of services in one year".

The Prime Minister reminded that the draft budget for 2019 envisages financing of a number of medical initiatives that will enable citizens to receive free diagnostics and medical tests – by referral from a family doctor. Significant changes will affect emergency medicine - first of all, in terms of modernization of equipment and increase of doctors’ wages.

"We also need to ensure the quality of treatment, thus to provide medicines. For a long time, there has been corruption in the procurement system. From 2015, we have introduced a new procurement system - through international organizations. And now we are talking about a permanent mechanism of procurement - without kickbacks and for real money", the Head of Government noted.

According to him, the Government program Available Medicines will be continued. During the program, patients received medicines under more than 25 million recipes.

"For a long time the fight was not for medicine and the healthcare of Ukrainians, but for the financial flows. Now all these schemes are eradicated. And attacks on the Ministry of Healthcare today are attempts to return all these schemes back. I have zero tolerance for this and I am not going to put up with it. Everything should be open, transparent and understandable for Ukrainians",Volodymyr Groysman said. - For many years different sectors have been in a lamentable state, and now we have to bring order - in all directions at the same time. We will keep putting one foot in front of the other".
