69% of Ukrainian population already lives in CCs
69% of the Ukrainian population already lives in consolidated communities (CCs). This is one of the key criteria for assessing sustainability of communities. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko.
This is about the population living in CCs, as well as in the cities of oblast significance that joined CCs. Last year the Parliament passed the important bills that allowed voluntary amalgamation of communities with cities of oblast significance without holding elections.
"Today, we have 2369 communities not covered by perspective plans, and 99 districts in which any CCs was formed. Therefore, first of all, our task is to elaborate prospective plans for the formation of CCs covering 100% of Ukraine’s territory", Hennadii Zubko stressed.
It should be mentioned that at present 806 CCs have been already created. Another 70 communities are waiting for the decision of the Central Election Commission to hold the first elections there.
