Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko took part in the opening of the XII International Conference of Young Scientists Youth and the Olympic Movement, which began in Kyiv at the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the participants on the start of the conference, wished success and perseverance. In his opening statement, Viacheslav Kyrylenko stressed that the Government paid much attention to the development of infrastructure projects in the field of sports.
"This year's budget provides for over UAH 200 million for the repair, reconstruction and construction of new sports palaces. For the creation of multifunctional sports grounds for playing sports, there have also been budgeted funding worth UAH 200 million, the same amount for the construction of swimming pools. In addition, this year the repair of gymnasiums in institutions of secondary education will start", said the top official. He also noted that these programs also involve local communities, and joint work is underway to restore the country's sports infrastructure.
In the framework of the event, Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko handed over state awards - honorary titles, conferred by the President of Ukraine on May 4, 2019 to Olena Lazarev, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy of the National University on Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy of the National University on Physical Education and Sports Ivan Lukasevych, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Handball Federation Yevgen Petrushevsky.
The event was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Ihor Zhdanov, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhii Bubka, President of the National Committee for the Sport of the Disabled of Ukraine Valerii Sushkevich, rector of the National University on Physical Education and Sport Yevgen Imas, President of the International Association of Physical Culture and Sports of the Universities Kairat Zakiryanov, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences Vasyl Kremen, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Roman Hreba.
