
Viacheslav Kyrylenko bestowed the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers for best works for children and youth
December 12, Vice Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko took part in the opening of the Book Contracts Fair at the Ukrainian House and awarded the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine named after Lesia Ukrainka for the best literary and artistic works for children and the youth in 2017.
Viacheslav Kyrylenko congratulated the winners and wished them inspiration: "It is important to honor the work of writers, artists who pay special attention to the young adults generation. These are extraordinary people who bring joy to children with their creativity", stressed Viacheslav Kyrylenko.
The winners of the Prize have been selected on a competitive basis. The winners of 2017 became Maria Morozenko for the stories about the hero of the Ukrainian Cossacks Ivan Sirko and the novel I Fell in Love (in the nomination Fiction for Children and Youth), Kateryna Ivanova for the original design of collections of fairy tales by Vasyl Chukhlib A Song of a Thin Reed, poems about nature A Forest Lesson, folk Christmas songs and carols The Christmas Carol is Approaching (in the nomination Artistic Design of Books for Children and Young People), Stepan Koval for the creation of the animation series The Professionals (in the nomination Cinematographic Works for Children and the Youth).
This year the size of the Prize was doubled, it is UAH 20,000.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting Oleh Nalyvaiko, director of the Ukrainian House State Enterprise Yuri Stelmashchuk, publishers.
The Book Contracts Fair will last until December 15.
