All resilience and emergency heating points under the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are provided with generators, fuel and stable communications, says Ihor Klymenko

In an exclusive interview with one of the publications, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko spoke about the organisation and provision of resilience and emergency heating points of the State Emergency Service.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, 54 units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, including district police departments and fire departments, perform the functions of resilience points in the capital. Businesses can also participate in the organisation of resilience points, provided they meet the following criteria: providing citizens with a place to warm up, charge their gadgets, and get free access to water and hot drinks.

The Minister paid special attention to the mobile points of the State Emergency Service, which appear in the yards of high-rise buildings: "When the 112 hotline started receiving calls about the lack of electricity, heat and water supply in homes, we saw where we needed to bring the points closer to people. Analysing the data received, pneumatic tents began to appear in the yards of high-rise buildings where the situation was most difficult – to be closer to people who needed help."

The Minister also noted that specialised locations with beds, such as in Troieshchyna, are primarily intended for people who need pre-medical care or have medical indications.

In an interview, Ihor Klymenko also assured that all facilities under the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are fully equipped with generators, provided with fuel and stable communications.

Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko also told about the consolidated work of all units of the State Emergency Service, including newly created teams of climbers, engineers, UAVs, robotics and sapper crews during the elimination of the consequences of enemy attacks. He also highlighted the role of the National Police of Ukraine amid the lack of power supply in the capital.
