Volodymyr Kistion: No disruption in the launch of 24/7 gas balancing is acceptable

It is crucial to ensure the gas balancing system operating 24/7 with use of an automated information platform. The system of gas balancing in the Ukrainian GTS in line with the norms of the Third Energy Package should be launched on August 1, 2018. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion told.

"This is the basis for transparent relations in the gas market, hence no disruption in the launch of this system is acceptable. Every effort should be made to comply with the law and eliminate corruption risks in commercial operations with natural gas starting August 1", stressed Volodymyr Kistion.

According to him, automated 24/7 gas balancing will stimulate a clear, economically weighed planning of gas demand and consumption in the country, as well as liquidate the ‘manual control’ factor in the processes of information exchange between the stakeholders in the gas market.

NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and PJSC Ukrtransgaz should do their utmost to launch operation of a transparent system in Ukraine within three weeks aimed to balance the imbalances in the GTS and give impetus to further development of the gas market", the Vice Prime Minister stressed.
