A meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons was held chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.
The meeting focused on the issue of social benefits for IDPs. Following the discussions, the Ministry of Social Policy, together with the Ministry of Finance, was instructed to ensure timely payments to IDPs.
In addition, the meeting addressed the current problem of the lack of ID cards in the regions for citizens receiving state social assistance. In June, the regions’ priority needs for the required number of ID cards will be met.
The Coordination Headquarters also discussed improving the living conditions of IDPs and vulnerable groups in places of compact accommodation.
“We need to support vulnerable categories of citizens. This also applies to internally displaced persons. We should not hide from problems, we should not deny them, but solve them steadily, step by step!” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
