From supermarkets to petrol stations — Government brings businesses together to launch national eCheck service
We are launching eCheck — an electronic receipt service that is automatically stored in your banking app. This is a convenient evolution of a familiar tool: no paper, no faded receipts in your wallet. Your receipt is now where your finances are — on your smartphone.
What does this mean for shoppers
Paper receipts are easy to lose, creating inconvenience when you need to return an item. With eCheck, this problem disappears.
Everything is in your bank: The receipt appears where you already view your expenses — in your bank app.
No extra steps: You don't need to download, install, or register with third-party store apps or websites.
Complete freedom of choice: You choose the format of your receipt — digital or paper. The service works in parallel with traditional receipts and is completely voluntary.
Privacy: Only you can see your receipt in your bank's app.
Why is this beneficial for businesses
In 2025 alone, 9.49 billion receipts were generated in Ukraine. Every year, businesses spend around UAH 600 million on paper for receipts alone.
Economy: Less paper means lower printing costs and fewer technical failures.
Simplicity: The cash register works as usual, without any changes to the processes — you just need to set it up according to the instructions.
Environmental friendliness: Thermal paper, on which receipts are printed, contains BPA and cannot be recycled like regular paper. Digital receipts solve this problem too.
eCheck does not create a new system — it conveniently integrates into the one that everyone already uses.
How can you start using it today
The service is being implemented in stages. In the first stage, it is already available to customers of PrivatBank, PUMB, VST bank, and monobank. You can get eCheck at Aurora, Fora, and Auchan retail chains, as well as at Ukrnafta petrol stations.
The full launch of the service is scheduled for the end of 2026.
How can businesses connect to eCheck
The program is open to businesses that work with cash registers/payment terminals and accept cashless payments. Participation in the program is voluntary.
To connect to the service, submit an application and configure your cash register according to the instructions on the website: echeck.me.gov.ua/sellers
eCheck is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Finance, the State Tax Service, and the National Bank. The program is being realized in partnership with Mastercard, with the assistance of Visa and Prostir National Payment System.
