Veteran entrepreneurship regulated at the legislative level
The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law on veteran entrepreneurship. For the first time, it defines what constitutes a veteran business and provides for preferential loans, compensations, grants, lease of state property without auctions, and priority in public procurement.
“We are working to ensure that our defenders have a place to return to, find employment, learn new skills, or change their field of work. This is about enabling them to rebuild lost businesses or start from scratch,” commented Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on the law’s adoption.
The Head of Government noted that among the Government’s initiatives are the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) programme, with a specific component for veterans and military families, as well as competitive programmes from the Ukrainian Veterans Fund under the Ministry for Veterans Affairs.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the Government will soon prepare secondary legislation to enable the implementation of all support mechanisms.
