The Ministry of Economy is deepening its cooperation with UNHCR Ukraine. In particular, UNHCR has developed a platform for Ukrainian forced migrants and internally displaced persons – “Ukraine is Home”, which will provide comprehensive information on the stay of Ukrainians abroad, their return to Ukraine, support programmes for housing, employment and other types of assistance. With the assistance of the Ministry of Economy, the platform will be updated with information on current employment, training and entrepreneurship opportunities.
This was discussed during a meeting between Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Karolina Billing, UNHCR Representative in Ukraine. The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
“Creating conditions for Ukrainians to return home is one of the priority tasks that the state is currently working on. The Government’s goal is to create conditions for Ukrainians to find employment and set up their own businesses, to purchase their own housing on affordable terms, and to introduce tools for training and retraining. We are grateful to our partners from UNHCR Ukraine for creating a resource where Ukrainians in different countries can get up-to-date information on economic opportunities in Ukraine,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
