The Government recognized the capacity of the 175 consolidated territorial communities in which first local elections took place in 2017-2018, as well as the communities in which first local elections were scheduled for December 23, 2018, by the new CEC (Central Election Commission) team. Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko announced at the Government session.

"From now on these communities can fully exercise their self-governing powers! And it is also the possibility of voluntary association with these CCs (consolidated community). Today's decision is another proof to the Government's unvariable stance in support of the united territorial communities that have believed in the reform. You have our support!" said Hennadii Zubko.

It should be noted, yesterday the Vice Prime Minister made a statement on a claim lodged with the demand to cancel the scheduled for December 23, 2018 first elections in 34 CCs. According to him, the opponents of the most successful reform - decentralization – with this lawsuit put a jeopardy not just the holding of the first elections in the CCs, but also the people's desire for community development, the opportunity to get positive improvements. "Our positionis as follows: measures to secure a claim cannot in either way stop the process of designation, preparation and conduct of elections! The most successful decentralization reform is irreversible!" summed up Hennadii Zubko.
