On September 19, the Government allocated UAH 29.4 million to pay assistance to the families of ATO participants who died and those who got disability as a result of injury, contusions, maims or illnesses obtained during their participation in the anti-terror operation.
"In the east of Ukraine, our soldiers protect the peace and freedom of Ukraine and the whole of Europe, often at the expense of their life and health. Compensation won’t allow them to get back neither former nor the latter, but it is the least that we can do for the heroes and their families to support them", commented a corresponding decision of the Government the First Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubov.
Under the aforesadi Gov’t resolution a one-off assistance to the total sum of almost UAH 18.5 mn will be paid to 17 families of the persons killed in the ATO. Another sum worth UAH 10.9 will be paid to 24 persons with disabilities as a result of the obtained injuries in the course of the ATO.
The funding will be transferred to the Ministry of Social Policy from the Reserve Fund of the State Budget.
