  • Government has reduced the validity period of green COVID vaccination certificates
Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 19 January 2022 16:18

The validity of the green COVID certificates in the Diia confirming coronavirus vaccination has been reduced from 365 to 270 days. Relevant changes were made today to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers №677 of June 29, 2021.

The new validity of the digital certificate changes for all three types of documents: internal, foreign and international. They will be valid for 9 months and the term will be calculated from the moment the person receives the second dose of vaccination.

In addition, with the resolution, the Government has approved the clinical basis for the issuance of a certificate based on the receipt of a booster dose of the vaccine against COVID-19. In particular, a digital document can be generated after receiving the vaccine, which corresponds to the approved booster dose vaccine administration scheme.

At that, it is important to adhere to the recommended booster injection period - it is most effective during the booster period from 180 to 270 days after receiving the main vaccination. If you missed the booster in the specified time - you should try to do it as soon as possible to ensure the certificate is generated correctly.

The opportunity to generate a COVID certificate for coronavirus booster vaccines will be available in the Diia application in late January.

It should be noted that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty, will be preferred for booster doses, regardless of which vaccine the person was previously vaccinated with.

Those who received the first two CoronaVac vaccinations from Sinovac Biotech are recommended to receive a booster dose of Pfizer vaccine. In the absence of mRNA vaccines, the booster dose can be given by another vaccine according to the schemes approved in Ukraine.
