At a Government session on July 8, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed a resolution on the distribution of a subvention for the payment of monetary compensation for the purchase of housing to internally displaced persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the order provides for the allocation of a UAH 250 million resource for the purchase of housing for 219 veterans.
"The Government continues the program of support for Donbas war veterans. Last week, we actually allocated UAH 300 million for housing for our veterans. This weekend, we honored the memory of those killed in the battles for the liberation of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk that took place six years ago," said the Prime Minister.
Moreover, the PM noted that today's decision of the Government applies to those "who defended Ukraine, its independence, integrity and their own homes with weapons in their hands." "We are talking about 219 IDPs who were directly involved in the anti-terror operation. Today we will allocate almost UAH 250 million for the military. This resource will also be directed to ensure that our veterans can get their own apartments and comfortable living conditions," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the sum worth UAH 248 million will be directed to 24 regions and the city of Kyiv. That will allow to provide housing to 219 internally displaced persons who took part in the anti-terrorist operation and got a disability of III group.
