At a Government session on July 8, the Government has adopted a resolution on the allocation of additional funds from the Coronavirus Response Fund for the purchase of equipment for the emergency departments of base hospitals.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the Ministry of Health and local authorities have identified key areas that need additional equipment. This is medical equipment for emergency departments in healthcare facilities.

"Undoubtedly, the level of available equipment is just an unacceptable situation. Because these are emergency departments that are responsible for saving people's lives, and there should have at their disposal the most advanced equipment. The funds will be directed to purchase tomographs, endoscopes and hagiographic systems for cardiology," the Prime Minister said.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulates that hundreds of our hospitals in large cities and small towns "will have an opportunity to receive hundreds of devices to save the lives of Ukrainians. And this is the essential objective of real medical reform."
