  • Ministry of Health: Government has allotted UAH 5.3 billion for medical equipment for base hospitals across the country

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported the initiative of the Ministry of Health and adopted a resolution allowing to allot for the Ministry of Health a UAH 5.3 billion resource. These are funds from the COVID-19 Response Fund to be used for the purchase of equipment for emergency departments.

    "It is assumed that the main budget funds spending agency and the responsible executor is the Ministry of Health. It is proposed to determine as the recipient of funds the State Enterprise "Medical Procurement of Ukraine". District hospitals throughout Ukraine will receive the equipment. This is a real reform that will improve the quality of medicine and provide Ukrainian hospitals with advanced equipment," commented Health Minister Maksym Stepanov on the Government's decision.

    Among the equipment to be purchased are endoscopes, angiographic systems and computed tomography. The medical equipment will be purchased for the emergency departments. A total of 212 base hospitals have been identified in Ukraine.
