Government launches a 0.1% interest rate loan program to help restore businesses damaged by russian aggression

A new program offering low-interest loans to restore businesses affected by russian shelling went into effect today. Small and medium-sized businesses can receive up to UAH 150 million under the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% program to restore destroyed or damaged property. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“The Government continues to expand support tools for affected businesses as part of the Made in Ukraine policy.” In addition to the new loan program, businesses have access to grants for restoring production equipment, mechanisms for compensating employees’ wages during forced downtime caused by russian shelling, and insurance against war risks,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Yulia Svyrydenko noted that for the first two years, the interest rate on such loans will be 0.1% per annum. Starting in the third year, the terms will follow the 5-7-9 program.

The maximum loan term is up to 10 years. Applications can be submitted through one of the authorized banks within two years after the damage to or destruction of the enterprise has been officially documented.

The Prime Minister added that these loans would not be counted toward the maximum loan amount under the 5-7-9 program. This will allow businesses to take out other loans under this program while they are rebuilding.
