On July 11, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal chaired the first meeting of the Steering Board for Coordination of Central Executive Authorities to support Ukraine’s participation in the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform.
The Steering Board consists of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, as well as representatives of Ukraine in the World Bank, the IMF and the EBRD.
The Ministry of Finance was represented by Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko.
The Steering Board was established to coordinate the actions of central executive authorities and other government institutions within the framework of the Platform. This is an important step to maximize the effectiveness of Ukraine’s cooperation with international donors.
Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko, as deputy chairman of the Steering Board and co-chairman of the Steering Committee of the Platform from Ukraine, outlined the current tasks for the Ukrainian side within the Platform.
“The priorities of the Platform’s operation are attracting budget support, rapid recovery, public investment management, systematic work on the Reforms Matrix, and private sector support. All these areas require active involvement of all responsible parties.
In the year and a half of the Platform’s operation, we have already achieved significant results, including attracting the necessary budget support in 2023 – USD 42.5 billion – and assurances of continued assistance in 2024. We are also actively working towards recovery: assessing needs, urgent priorities, attracting financial and other resources. Together, we are systematizing and prioritizing reforms for short- and long-term economic growth. Given the broad scope of the Platform’s work, the meetings of the Steering Board and the constant coordination of the Ukrainian side’s efforts are essential,” the Minister of Finance said.
