Government endorses decision to establish a Regional Recovery Coordination Center

On June 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed a decision to establish a Regional Recovery Coordination Center. The Center shall act as a temporary advisory body under the Government. Its composition and Regulations on its activities have also been approved.

The Center is intended to become a convenient tool for coordinating the actions of executive authorities, local governments, NGOs, international partners and donors.

The Coordination Center will be headed by Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

"The work of the Coordination Center will create a unified approach to prioritizing recovery projects. The point is to harmonize the needs of the regions with the national priorities for recovery.

Such an approach will ensure transparency of processes, increase trust by international partners and donor organizations, and facilitate efficient use of financial resources allocated for the reconstruction of Ukraine," said Oleksii Kuleba.

Key tasks include:

• finding solutions to the most pressing problems in the field of recovery;
• improving the regulatory framework;
• assisting in the recovery and humanitarian support of the territories;
• continuous monitoring of the results and effectiveness of recovery measures.

The Center shall also coordinate efforts to restore damaged or destroyed infrastructure, including critical infrastructure, using resources from the state and local budgets, as well as international technical and financial assistance.
