A meeting on the implementation of projects on the construction of shelters in general secondary education institutions was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The event brought together Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, Head of the State Agency for Restoration Serhii Sukhomlyn, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and heads of regional executive bodies.

"The safety of the educational process is a key condition for children's education and an important factor for the return of Ukrainian families from abroad. That is why the development of a reliable protection infrastructure in schools remains one of the Government's priorities," said Denys Shmyhal.

He noted that this year the regions had received a subvention of UAH 6.2 billion from the state for the construction of shelters in schools. 144 projects are planned to be implemented in 100 communities in 22 regions.

At the meeting, the heads of regional administrations provided information on the pace of implementation of these initiatives.

"We expect that all the allocated funds will be used efficiently and the projects will be completed by the end of the year. This issue is under the control of the relevant ministries. The Government will closely coordinate the process with the RMA. We must provide an opportunity for all children to study safely in an offline format," the Prime Minister stressed.

Separately, the Head of Government instructed to intensify work on the construction of shelters in preschool educational institutions.

"We continue to work on creating a safe, accessible and high-quality educational environment throughout Ukraine," said Denys Shmyhal.
