The Government is accelerating the implementation of the eOselia (eHousing) soft loan programme. To this end, several decisions have been approved regarding the further financing of the programme. In particular, it was agreed that Ukrfinzhytlo (Ukrainian Financial Housing Company) could raise additional funds on the open financial market.
"The eOselia programme has proved to be very popular among citizens. We can see a high demand for soft loans at 3% per annum. The Government is doing everything to continue the eOselia programme and expand the number of potential participants. Now we need to give a new impetus to Ukrfinzhytlo's financing, which will allow us to start raising additional funds, including on the open financial market. We also expect to raise funds from international organisations. I am confident that the number of loans issued will increase in the near future," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The eOselia affordable mortgage lending programme has been operating since October last year. Since then, 948 Ukrainian families have received affordable loans to purchase their own homes for a total amount of over UAH 1.2 billion. All of them are representatives of professions critical to the state: 782 military and lw enforcement personnel, 85 doctors, 71 teachers and 10 scientists. Loans to these categories of people are provided at 3% per annum.
This year, the list of categories of citizens eligible for home loans is expected to be expanded to include those who can take out a loan for the purchase of a home at 7% per annum. The Government expects to make this programme permanent.
