Government launches reform of the State Labour Service, focusing on workplace safety, labour rights and employment support
The Government has taken the first step towards reforming the State Labour Service of Ukraine. The reform aims to remove unnecessary functions that duplicated the work of other authorities or had long lost their relevance. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the State Labour Service will place greater focus on workplace safety, the protection of labour rights and ensuring fair rules in the labour market.
The Prime Minister stressed that the social dimension will also be strengthened. The State Labour Service will receive expanded powers to support the employment of persons with disabilities and employers creating accessible workplaces.
“The State Labour Service must become a transparent and digital institution trusted by both employees and employers. Its key task is to protect workers’ rights and ensure safe working conditions,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.
