Yulia Svyrydenko: Ensuring Kyiv gets through the coming winter smoothly is one of the Government’s priorities
At a meeting of the Energy Headquarters on preparing Kyiv for the heating season, the Government and city authorities coordinated their efforts.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko participated in a meeting of the Energy Headquarters on Kyiv’s preparations for the upcoming heating season, where the actions of the Government and city authorities were coordinated.
“Ensuring Kyiv gets through the coming winter without disruption is one of our top priorities. The Government has already allocated nearly UAH 1 billion for priority measures and is preparing additional funding of UAH 2 billion to protect energy facilities and equipment,” the Prime Minister said.
Implementation of a pilot project to provide backup power for Kyiv’s apartment buildings is also continuing—involving the purchase and installation of batteries, inverters, and generators to power elevators, building systems, and lighting in common areas. Other necessary support is also being provided to prepare the capital for winter.
“At the same time, the responsibility for the high-quality and timely preparation of Kyiv for the heating season lies with the city authorities. The city must ensure the proper organization of work and utilize all opportunities provided by the state to prepare for winter,” the Prime Minister noted.
