Nearly 1,000 families have already purchased housing under the new component of the eVidnovlennia program for IDPs from temporarily occupied territories

Nearly 1,000 Ukrainian families have already purchased apartments under the new component of the eVidnovlennia program, which allows internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories to purchase new housing. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine/ Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba during A Question Time with the Government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

According to the Minister, the new mechanism became operational in early May and is primarily aimed at veterans and military personnel whose homes remain in the temporarily occupied territories and who have the status of combatants or persons with war-related disabilities.

“To date, approximately UAH 6.6 billion have been allocated from the State Budget for the implementation of this program. This will provide housing for nearly 3,300 families. Over 300 housing vouchers were issued during the first two weeks of the new mechanism’s operation, and as of today, nearly 1,000 families have received them,” noted Oleksii Kuleba.

He emphasized that the Ministry continues to work on securing additional funding to scale up the program and increase the number of families eligible for housing support.

The Minister also highlighted the overall results of the eVidnovlennia program. Since its launch, nearly 200,000 Ukrainian families have already received compensation for the repair of damaged housing and for destroyed homes.

“This is an extremely important achievement. The program has proven its effectiveness and has become one of the key tools for supporting people affected by russian aggression. Our task today is to ensure its continued funding and expansion,” emphasized Oleksii Kuleba.

During his speech, the Minister also highlighted the need for continued support for older adults living in temporary shelters. According to him, local governments, in collaboration with regional military administrations, are working to provide them with long-term housing solutions.
