Ukrainians can get fuel compensation from the Government until the end of May
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the fuel cashback program until May 31, 2026. The decision was made in light of persistently high fuel prices and the program’s widespread use by Ukrainians.
Starting May 1, the maximum compensation amount will be up to UAH 500 per month per user. This level corresponds to the actual amounts received by most participants and allows for support to be provided to the maximum number of people, ensuring the program’s targeted nature.
Since the program’s launch on March 20, over 2 million Ukrainians have already received fuel cashback, confirming the real demand for this support. The program is primarily aimed at owners of mid-range cars, for whom fuel costs represent a significant portion of the family budget. 91% of users are owners of budget-class cars with small engine capacity.
The program is compensatory in nature and helps partially reduce people’s fuel costs. Depending on the type of fuel, the savings range from approximately UAH 2 to UAH 13 per liter:
- 15% on diesel;
- 10% on gasoline;
- 5% on autogas.
219 gas station operators have already joined the program—ranging from national chains to local stations—making it possible to receive cashback practically anywhere in Ukraine. A complete list of participating gas stations can be found on the National Cashback portal.
“We can see that the program is working: millions of Ukrainians are already receiving cashback and using it primarily to pay for utilities and other daily expenses. This is direct support for households during a period of high fuel prices and, at the same time, a contribution to the stability of the domestic economy,” noted Vitalii Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
The fuel cashback is implemented as part of the National Cashback state program, which already has over 4.8 million active users. The updated terms of the program also provide for its continued operation.
National Cashback provides compensation of:
- 15% — on most non-food items and certain food categories;
- 5% — on food, pharmacy items, and gardening and farming supplies.
Cashback is credited exclusively for cashless payments.
The funds received can be used to pay for utilities or postal services, purchase medicines, books, and goods manufactured in Ukraine, as well as for charitable purposes, including support for the Armed Forces.
