Ukrainian diplomats worldwide joined the UNITED24 fundraiser for ambulances

Ukrainian diplomats in various countries have joined the UNITED24 campaign to raise funds for the purchase of ten type-C ambulances for Ukrainian medical institutions.

The initiative is being implemented under the UNITED24 “Medical Aid” direction. The fundraiser is led by platform ambassador, retired NASA astronaut and paramedic Scott Kelly. The campaign’s goal is to raise USD 1.2 million.

Scott Kelly announced the launch of the fundraiser during a panel discussion organized by Ukraine’s Ministry of Health on the second day of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has also joined the initiative, engaging the network of Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad. Embassies and consulates of Ukraine will cooperate with Ukrainian communities, international partners, and friends of Ukraine to help raise the necessary amount.

Why is this important?

Type-C ambulances are equipped for intensive care and resuscitation procedures directly during patient transportation. They will strengthen the capacity of emergency medical services, especially in frontline and heavily affected regions, where timely evacuation and continuous medical support are critically important.

The need for such vehicles remains extremely high, as russia systematically attacks Ukraine’s medical infrastructure. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the enemy has destroyed or damaged more than 500 ambulances.

Meanwhile, emergency medical teams work under heavy daily pressure, responding to thousands of calls. Since early 2022, the system has handled nearly 25 million calls (an average of over 15,000 per day).

The purchase of new ambulances will ensure timely patient transportation and the provision of necessary medical care en route to healthcare facilities.
