Ukraine is interested in attracting Polish businesses to participate in reconstruction projects, says Yuliia Svyrydenko at a meeting with Krzysztof Paszyk
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko met with a Polish delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Paszyk in Kyiv. The parties discussed the deepening of economic cooperation, steps to attract investment in the Ukrainian economy, and the participation of Polish businesses in Ukraine's recovery projects.
The meeting featured Deputy Ministers of Economy Andrii Teliupa, Tetiana Berezhna and Oleksandr Tsybort, as well as Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk.
The main topic of the meeting was the specific opportunities for investors currently offered by Ukraine, as well as the involvement of Polish businesses in recovery projects.
"Today, more than 3,000 Polish companies are already involved in Ukraine's reconstruction projects, and every tenth new business registered in Poland in 2024 was established by Ukrainian citizens. This is evidence of close economic relations. However, the potential for deepening cooperation remains extremely high. Ukraine is interested in greater involvement of private Polish businesses in working with Ukrainian producers and in Polish investments in our economy," emphasized Yuliia Svyrydenko.
During the meeting, the parties discussed practical aspects of attracting investments under the Ukraine Investment Framework, a key EU instrument to support recovery projects in Ukraine. The Ukrainian side emphasized the effectiveness of the UIF as a clear and accessible tool that allows for the prompt launch of real projects on the ground, attracting international resources for business development.
The Polish delegation was briefed on the current state and opportunities for cooperation in the priority sectors that Ukraine is currently focusing on developing. In particular, they addressed cooperation in energy and industry.
Taking into account the active support of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises by the Polish BGK (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego) development bank, Ukraine invited Poland to join the SME Alliance and to announce it at the URC-2025.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a series of separate meetings to present investment opportunities in priority sectors to Polish business, as well as government programs to promote and support investment currently in place in Ukraine.
