Ukraine will consider the Czech Republic's experience in decentralizing the energy system and is interested in joint projects on distributed generation. This was discussed during a meeting of Deputy Energy Minister Yaroslav Demchenkov with Special Envoy for Energy Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Václav Bartuška and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Radek Matula.
The Czech expertise in the development of distributed generation and network construction is a good example of decentralization of the energy system. The Czech Republic is also implementing a project to develop distributed economic infrastructure in Moldova. This experience is interesting for Ukraine, so the Deputy Minister invited the Czech side to consider the possibility of implementing a similar project in one of the regions of Ukraine in cooperation with an international organization.
"A decentralized energy system is a matter of our security. In the face of the constant threat from russia, we have to make sure that critical infrastructure continues to operate even in the face of systemic failures and that Ukrainians are provided with electricity. But beyond that, it is also a matter of our climate commitments. Distributed generation is generation that uses renewable energy sources, and we pay a lot of attention to stimulating the development of green energy," said Yaroslav Demchenkov.
The parties also discussed the issue of replacing russia in the nuclear energy market. Minister of Energy German Galushchenko has repeatedly emphasized in his communications with international partners that the issue of ousting russian energy resources from global markets is a priority, and Ukraine will help Europe overcome its energy dependence on russia.
The Czech Republic is one of the first countries to get rid of its dependence on russian gas by almost one hundred percent and is taking an active position in ousting the aggressor from world markets.
