Ukraine to become an associate member of the OECD Working Group on Bribery in international business transactions
Today, December 9, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka took part in the National Anti-Corruption Forum “Integrity 2030: Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Future” marking International Anti-Corruption Day. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Ukraine's progress in the fight against corruption.
"Ukraine is consistently harmonizing its national legislation and anti-corruption practices in line with the high international standards. This decision by the OECD is a recognition of our country's significant progress in anti-corruption policy. Membership in the OECD Working Group and accession to the Convention open up a new level of cooperation and responsibility for us, enhancing confidence in Ukraine as a reliable partner," Taras Kachka stressed.
He also pointed out that Ukraine has a comprehensive anti-corruption system that can detect, investigate, and prosecute top-level corruption. At the same time, it's important to keep strengthening these institutions.
"This is not only about meeting the requirements of international partners; the issue of justice is the main demand of Ukrainian society and, therefore, the basis of our resilience in times of full-scale war. The development and adoption of an ambitious but realistic Anti-Corruption Strategy and
and the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2026-2030 represent an international commitment and a cross-cutting requirement of key monitoring mechanisms, in particular of the OECD and GRECO, as well as a key prerequisite for European integration progress," added the Deputy Prime Minister.
