During the World Economic Forum in Davos, a lot of attention is predictably focused on Ukraine. This was stated by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, who is participating in the forum as part of the Ukrainian delegation.
However, an important signal is Ukraine's presence in global discussions not only in terms of overcoming the war, but also in discussing the future. In particular, the European Union noted that the issue of industrial independence and climate neutrality of Europe would depend largely on important trading partners - the United States and Ukraine. This was stated by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine, during a live broadcast of the National Telethon on January 17, as part of the Ukrainian delegation to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"In general, discussions on partnership with Ukraine are centered around three pillars: agriculture and our role in global food security, as many companies are interested not only in exports but also in the development of the processing industry. The development of the digital economy is certainly interesting, and everyone recognizes our leadership in many areas. And, strangely enough, this is industry - the fact that Ukraine, as an EU candidate and a large country with industrial potential, is a point for many companies to locate their production facilities," said Taras Kachka.
The Deputy Minister added that tomorrow there would be a substantive conversation with the heads of global corporations to discuss their strategies for Ukraine.
In general, the main tasks that the Ukrainian delegation will work on in Davos include the Peace Formula proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and presented at the Forum by First Lady Olena Zelenska. On the other hand, international support for Ukraine's reconstruction, which should be based on private investment with the use of the latest technologies, expansion of trade and economic cooperation, strengthening of European integration processes, and implementation of new projects in Ukraine, in particular, those related to manufacturing, are important issues for Ukraine.
