Building on the contacts between leaders of Ukraine and the U.S., President of the United States Joseph R. Biden, Jr. received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba at the White House

The meeting took place during the visit of the Foreign Minister to the United States and ahead of the briefing by the President of the U.S. where he announced new sanctions on Russia. 

The President reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and updated Foreign Minister on the U.S. response to Russia’s illegal move to recognize ‘independence’ of the so-called ‘LPR’ and ‘DPR’. The American leader reiterated the readiness of the United States to take further swift and decisive actions, in close coordination with allies and partners, should Russia proceed with further aggression against Ukraine.  

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to the United States for the political, macro-financial and military support it extended and continues to extend to Ukraine against the backdrop of Russia’s aggressive actions. Foreign Minister underscored the leading role of the U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. in rallying the global coalition to protect Ukraine and the global security order. 

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba underlined the importance of further permanent increase of sanctions pressure on Russia, as well as the importance of further military and macro-financial support for Ukraine, and outlined concrete proposals on these matters. 

Foreign Minister reaffirmed the invitation extended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the U.S. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to visit Ukraine.
