Pilot project to introduce veterans’ assistants continues

A pilot project to introduce the institution of veterans’ assistants is underway. In four regions – Vinnytsia, Lviv, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk – more than 200 applications have already been submitted to join this initiative. Committees have been set up in these regions to interview candidates for veterans’ assistants. In August, those selected will be sent for training and subsequent employment.

Five other regions – Zakarpattia, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava and Kharkiv – have expressed an interest in joining the pilot project.

According to Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, if successful, the initiative will be implemented nationwide.
