STATUS OF THE GRIDS
Due to a series of technological disruptions, in particular a short circuit, a 330 kV substation in Odesa region was de-energised at the transmission system operator’s equipment. As a result, the Odesa CHPP was left without power, and 124,000 consumers were temporarily cut off. All customers have now been reconnected.
The causes of the emergency are being investigated.
To remind, this is not the first time that such emergencies have occurred in Odesa region. In particular, they occurred in February when, due to technical disruptions caused by shelling and unreliable grids requiring extensive repairs, consumers in Odesa region were left without electricity, even though electricity generation fully covered the needs of consumers. This situation was repeated in June.
POWER GENERATION
The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is fully sufficient to cover the needs of consumers. There is no shortage.
SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE REGIONS
Enemy terror in the frontline and border regions with russia continues. In Donetsk region, 18 settlements were cut off from electricity supply due to shelling. Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions are also without power.
Repair crews are working where the security situation allows. In total, over 150,000 customers have had their power restored overnight. Most of them are customers in Odesa and Donetsk regions.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKA HPP DAM BLOW-UP
Efforts are underway to record and eliminate the consequences of the flood caused by the dam blast. In Kherson, 11,900 customers are without power.
Power engineers are working to restore power supply. Restoration work has been slowed down, in particular, by constant hostile shelling.
SITUATION AT THE ZNPP
There is a slight decrease in the water level in the cooling pond. It is currently at 16.36 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
