Restrictions applied to 350,000 electricity consumers in Kharkiv region; Ukraine provided emergency assistance to Poland

    POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

In Kharkiv, hourly blackout schedules were applied yesterday – about 100,000 customers were cut off. Restrictions have also been applied this morning: about 350,000 consumers in Kharkiv and the districts of the region were disconnected.

There are also electricity restrictions in Kryvyi Rih district in Dnipropetrovsk region. No restrictions are planned for other regions. No electricity shortages are expected.

Yesterday, due to the excess electricity generation by SPPs, the generation from renewable energy sources was limited to a total of 2,373 MWh.

Ukraine also provided emergency electricity supplies to Poland. The total amount of electricity transmitted was 1,500 MWh.

Ukraine’s power system is stable and balanced.

    STATE OF THE GRID

Yesterday afternoon, for technological reasons, consumers in the central part of Kyiv – residential high-rise buildings and 29 institutions on Khreshchatyk Street and Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Street – were cut off. Within an hour, the power was restored.

In Kryvyi Rih, last night, a high-speed tram, a local thermal power plant, household and industrial consumers lost power due to a 150 kV overhead line outage caused by technological reasons. In less than an hour, the overhead line was reconnected and all consumers were supplied with power.

    CONSEQUENCES OF THE BAD WEATHER

Due to the bad weather, 12 settlements remain without power supply – 9 in Chernihiv region and 3 in Zhytomyr region. Power engineers are working to restore power to consumers as soon as possible.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased to 15.50 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 5,042 MWh. No exports are expected.
