No electricity shortage, a TPP unit put into operation after long-term repairs, adding 200 MW to the grid

Power generation and consumption

There is no shortage of electricity in the power system. There is enough electricity to meet the needs of consumers and industry.

Two TPP units were shut down for short-term maintenance, while two blocks of thermal power plants were returned to service after emergency repairs.

A TPP unit was also put back online after a long-term repair, which will add 200 MW of additional capacity to the grid.

Due to technical reasons, equipment at Cherkasy TPP was briefly shut down, but there were no disruptions in heat supply. The plant’s load has been restored.

In total, 5 units and 2 thermal generation blocks are in reserve and will be deployed if necessary.

The situation is stable and under control. No outage schedules are planned.

Consequences of shelling

As a result of hostile shelling, an overhead line in the south of the country was disconnected, which unloaded one of the thermal power plants and caused interruptions in the plant’s operation. Substations also lost power, leaving household consumers without electricity.

Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 2,815 MWh, while exports are not expected.

Situation at the ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.60 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
