Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 20 February 2024 09:55

Power generation and consumption

There is no electricity deficit in the power system. Domestic generation is sufficient to cover the needs of consumers, and commercial imports and exports of electricity are also planned.

During the day, a thermal power plant block and a turbine generator at one of the TPPs were out for short-term repairs, and the equipment was returned to operation after the issues were resolved. There are 9 power units in reserve that will be used if necessary.

The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No outage schedules are applied.

Consequences of shelling

As a result of shelling in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, a low-pressure gas distribution pipeline was damaged and consumers were disconnected.

A gas pipeline was also hit in Bohodukhiv district, Kharkiv region, and an apartment building (15 consumers) was cut off from gas supply.

Situation at the ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond remains stable at 15.59 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.

Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 1,490 MWh, and exports are also expected to reach 3,900 MWh.
