Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 14 May 2024 10:26

Due to significant damage to power facilities and electricity shortages, restrictions are in place for industrial consumers; needs are covered by domestic generation, commercial imports and emergency assistance

Yesterday, electricity consumption increased by 8% compared to the volume consumed on Sunday.

Consumers’ needs were covered by domestic generation, commercial imports and emergency supply from the power systems of Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

Today, at Ukraine’s request, emergency electricity has already been supplied from these countries. Emergency assistance will also be provided during the evening peak hours.

In the evening and at night, restrictions were imposed on industrial consumers in all regions except Kherson region. At the same time, electricity supply to household consumers was not restricted.

Today, it is also planned to apply power limitation schedules for industry starting from 16:00.

Yesterday in Sumy region, two overhead lines were disconnected during an air raid alert, which resulted in a power cut to a substation and household consumers.

In Chernihiv region, a rocket attack damaged an overhead line and simultaneously disconnected 1,554 consumers.

In Dnipro, an overhead line was disconnected for technological reasons, which cut off power to a substation as well as household and other consumers.

Yesterday, two employees at a power company in Kyiv region suffered sulphuric acid burns to their faces and hands while performing their duties. They were taken to hospital in moderate condition.

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.34 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant’s needs.

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 21,072 MWh. No exports are planned.
