A surplus of electricity was recorded in the power system – the surplus was transferred to Poland; 19 thermal generation units are in reserve

    Power generation

The Ukrainian power system recorded a surplus of electricity yesterday. This was facilitated by sunny weather and, accordingly, increased electricity generation by solar power plants. At the request of NPC Ukrenergo, the surplus was transferred to Poland in the total amount of 1,343 MWh (from 11:00 to 16:00).

For the current day, there are 19 thermal generation units in reserve, which will be used if necessary. Commercial electricity imports and exports are also planned.

    Consequences of shelling

The shelling damaged equipment at a 330 kV substation in the Kharkiv region’s border area. As a result, the substation lost its own power supply, but was later powered up.

Also in Kharkiv region, a 110 kV overhead line was disconnected due to damage, but consumers were not de-energised.

The shelling damaged power lines in Chernihiv region, leaving 370 consumers in six settlements without electricity.

    State of the grid

Equipment at a 110 kV substation in Odesa broke down, causing a short-term power outage for more than 13,000 household consumers, a water utility, electric transport and local industry. All consumers have now been reconnected.

In Donetsk region, equipment of a 110 kV overhead line was disconnected, leaving residential customers in Sloviansk without electricity supply. Within three hours, all customers were reconnected.

In Khmelnytskyi region, 7,500 household consumers lost power for a short time due to technical failures, all of them were reconnected.

    Situation at ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.56 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant’s needs.

    Import/export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 465 MWh, and exports to Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova and Hungary are also planned – up to 9,389 MWh.
