The cynical attack of the russian federation on civilian objects in Ukraine, during which the National Children’s Specialised Hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv was damaged, resulted in injuries and deaths of civilians, including children.
The Government, with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), will provide a one-time financial assistance of UAH 10,800 per person for families with children affected by the bombing and air strikes. The decision was made at a Government meeting on 9 July.
This assistance will be provided to families with children who were being treated at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital at the time of the attack on 8 July and to families with children of injured employees of a private medical facility that was also attacked.
Currently, the number of families to receive payments is being clarified, and the maximum amount of payment per family will be UAH 54,000 (5 people).
Background
The support is being provided within the framework of a joint project with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on additional social support measures for families with children in need of assistance to overcome the consequences of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
