During the working visit of the Government delegation to Prague, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.
The parties discussed economic and defence cooperation, challenges in the energy sector and the implementation of the Ukrainian President’s Peace Formula.
“We are grateful for the invitation to Prague to hold joint intergovernmental consultations. We appreciate the high level of dialogue between our countries and the support of the Czech government and people for Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal, expressing his gratitude for the efforts of the Czech partners in providing the necessary weapons to Ukrainian defenders.
The heads of government also discussed the progress of Ukraine’s integration into the EU and the prospects of joining NATO. Denys Shmyhal stressed that it was important for Ukraine to receive a message from member states at the NATO Summit about the inevitability of Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
For his part, Prime Minister Petr Fiala assured during the meeting that support for Ukraine remained a priority of the Czech Republic’s international policy.
