Another 20,000 families will receive compensation for damaged housing under the eVidnovlennia program, says Oleksii Kuleba

The Government has approved the allocation of an additional UAH 2 billion to the eVidnovlennia program. The funds were allocated at the request of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.

The resource will be used to pay compensation to citizens for the restoration of damaged housing.

“Due to enemy attacks and ongoing russian aggression, the destruction of the housing sector, unfortunately, continues. In total, over 3 million households have been damaged—that is about 14% of the country’s entire housing stock. The eVidnovlennia program is one of the most effective tools for supporting people whose homes have been either damaged or destroyed. We are constantly working to ensure stable funding for the program from various sources. “It is essential that every family affected by shelling has access to timely and targeted state assistance. Thanks to the allocation of funds, another 20,000 families will receive compensation for damaged housing under the eVidnovlennia program,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.

Funding is allocated across two categories of repairs.

First category - Category A repairs (up to UAH 200,000 per property). UAH 1.3 billion has been allocated for this category. This covers minor damage to housing.

Second category – Category B repairs. Here, the compensation amount is higher and depends on the type of housing (UAH 350,000 for apartments, UAH 500,000 for private homes). UAH 0.7 billion has been allocated for this category.

The decision to allocate funds was made due to the growing need for financing. The 2026 state budget envisages UAH 1.2 billion for these purposes, but nearly all available funds have already been used. As of the end of April, the need for payments exceeds UAH 500 million and continues to grow due to new damage to housing.

The allocation of additional funds will ensure the continuity of payments and support people whose homes have been damaged.

To date, nearly 139,000 families have already received payments for damaged housing—totaling UAH 13.5 billion. In total, over 212,000 applications have been submitted. The average compensation amount is approximately UAH 70,100 for Category A repairs and approximately UAH 341,600 for more complex restoration work.
